I want to learn Japanese just for fun. Am I crazy?
I am a 23 year old Russian woman living in New York. I’m studying to be a nurse. Last year, I traveled to Japan with my family. I fell in love with the culture. I love sushi, calligraphy, and Zen temples. I enjoy watching Japanese movies with subtitles. I can never remember their names because I don’t speak the language. I would like to learn Japanese so that I could understand the culture better. I just want to learn it on my own, without taking a course. Do you think I am obsessed with Japanese culture? I don’t need it for my career.
Wanting to learn another language is never a bad thing especially if you love the culture.
