My daughter feels sick after eating sweets?

She rarely ever indulges in sweets, but when she does she feels nauseated. She is 14, in portion with her height (maybe more on the slender side). She eats everything sushi, indian food, mexican food, you name it, but for some reason sweets makes her sick. Could it be that she is not accustomed to eating candy since I hardly gave it to her as a child.

Sugar may not be something her stomach can handle in larger doses than she is accustom to. If she has no family history of diabetes and is at a normal weight and eats healthy there is not much of a chance that she has diabetes.

I say get her checked at the doctor and see whats up. Possibly have her get some allergy tests done.

The thing is if it was diabetes, it wouldn’t just be sugary candy that would make nauseous. It would be anything with high carbohydrate content. Plus there are a whole lot of other symptoms that can be a sign of diabetes like dizziness, fatigue, lethargy, numbness/tingling of the hands and feet, blurry vision.

Hope it’s just a bad sugar rush. Take care.
