Sushi Chef School

What makes someone an elitist (in the USA)?
I keep hearing complaints about elitists, which seem to refer mostly to Democrats for some reason.
Some of the things I have seen listed as elitist in this country include:
Speaking a second language
Using words with more than 2 syllables
Windsurfing
Liking sushi
Having a college education
None of these are what I would call elitist. I think of elitists as being old money people who own haute couture and a personal jet, attended a private boarding school, have a live-in chef and valet, and talk down their noses at the lower classes. “Elite” (as opposed to “elitist”) to me refers to the very best, like an elite military force.
it’s the exact same thing that makes a person an elitist anywhere else on the planet…delusion.
def. The belief that certain persons or members of certain classes or groups deserve favored treatment by virtue of their perceived superiority, as in intellect, social status, or financial resources. Note the gogent word here is…”preceived”.
Most Republicans consider themselves an elite group, the delusion here is Prima facie. It would be difficult to locate a more incompetent group of blow-hards anywhere on the planet.
So, an elitist is never elite; they just delude themselves to believe the fantasy.
The term is an insult to the intellectual and a wonderful compliment to the fundamentalist and political neo-con. God save us from ourselves. (pun).
