Kani Sushi
I have a question about sushi restaurants?
I have never tried sushi before, and I want to try it. I plan on going to a Japanese/Thai restaurant sometime, and I need help on what I should order.
I definitely want to try a spicy tuna roll and california roll. Their website gives this information on their menu:
Deluxe ($20)
California & Tuna roll, 6 piece sushi assortments
And I think this is what that contains:
Tuna Sol
Spicy chopped tuna, avocado, scallions
California
Kani, avocado, cucumber, masago
Is that enough for two people, or what? And can you explain what these dressings are, and which one you think I should get on my salad?
Ginger soy vinaigrette, Balsamic vinaigrette, Peanut or Sesame dressing

What you have mentioned is quite a bit of food. Japanese food is tricky. you get a small plate or wooden platter and you think, oh dear, I’m going to be starving with just that amount of food, and then all of a sudden there you are stuffed and you can’t eat it all. Rember you are getting a lot of rice and it really fills you up. Good choice with te tuna roll and the California roll. Calif. Roll is probably most propular item. However, most places do not use real crab, but processes crab, but hell, it’s mixed in with so much else no big deal.The 6 other sushi pieces could be anything, you probably don’t have a choice, it will be something like tuna,,,halibut, crab, whatever
For your salad try the peaut or the sesame dressing, I love the peanut. They are basically vinagrettes with things added.
One of the things you should try is Edamme (Soy Beans) for an appitizer. They are wonderful and oh so healthy.
You can always ask the waitress for any on the menu. Enjoy
Oh yes, the one thing few know the really good Saki is actually the heated Saki.
